What's Happening Jan 2018

This is how we love to see our stock ponds! Brimming full. This pond will water our cows and calves along with an abundance of wildlife for most of the summer season.
Rain, snow or not? Boy, it has been NOT. That does not bode well for the upcoming year and especially if this is a signal of a new drought cycle. Stock ponds for watering livestock and wildlife all are at risk of filling. The groundwater doesn’t have a natural recharge boost. Stream flows will run lighter earlier in the year. Grass won’t grow as long in the short growing season we have.
We are eternal optimists, and will make do. Otherwise, we wouldn’t be in this generational, natural resource and livestock business. However, all of our natural resources suffer without Mother Natures blessed wet offerings. Let’s continue to pray for rain and snow, or maybe even a miracle March!
